His body of work centers around three African American men who have overcome adversity in the forms of poverty, race, sexual orientation, sexual and/or emotional abuse at home, school, church, and career. Each man achieved success utilizing different roads and methods. It is Maurice's hope the listeners will hear the actions associated with the words perseverance and gratitude.
